Chakra as he did in Kamakshi temple Kanchi (see my article about Kanchi Kamakshi temple). In 14 the century muslim kings invaded this temple and the local people took the Jogulamba idol and placed in Bala Brahmeswara swami temple, which is in the same premises. After 600 years again a separate temple is constructed for Jogulamba in the same place where it was there previously.

There is an idol of Lord Ganesha which is prepared with sand. The secret behind this idol is if it touched it looks hard but when rubbed sand will fall down from the idol.
Rivers Tunga, Bhadra and Krishna intersects at one place near this temple called as Krishna Tungabhadra Sangamam. Sangamam is a Sanskrit word for confluence. The point of confluence is a sacred place and is believed that bathing at this place removes one's sins.
There are Papanasini Theertham, Parasurama Theertham near to this temple. It is believed that taking holy bath in this place equals to a holy dip in river Ganga.
